Privacy policy

Pixel Office is a virtual office for teams, operated by NightlySoftware. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.

What we collect

• Your sign-in. When you sign in with GitHub, Google, Microsoft or an email link we receive a stable account identifier, your name, email address and profile picture. We use the identifier to recognise you; we never merge accounts because two of them share an email address.
• Offices you belong to. Memberships, roles, invitations you send or accept, and the floors and rooms you may enter.
• What you do in an office. Your avatar, where it stands, your status, chat messages and reactions, so the people in the office can see them.
• Calls. Voice, video and screen sharing are relayed live between participants and are not stored. Recordings exist only when someone in the call starts one and everyone present has agreed; they are kept for the period the office has configured and then deleted.
• Work activity you choose to share. If an office connects GitHub, or you connect your own computer, we receive the activity those connections send (for example repository events or which project you are working in). You can pause or remove these connections.
• Security records. Sign-ins, sign-outs and administrative changes are logged with a salted, hashed network address so abuse can be investigated.

What we do not do

• We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.
• With Google and Microsoft we only ask for your basic profile (name, email, picture). We do not read your mail, files or calendar.
• We do not give one office access to another office's people, chat or activity.

Who processes it

Pixel Office runs on servers operated by NightlySoftware. Sign-in emails are delivered by an email provider, and calls are relayed by our media servers. The sign-in provider you choose (GitHub, Google or Microsoft) handles your password; we never see it.

How long we keep it

Account and office data stays while your account or the office exists. Chat and activity history is kept for the time needed to show it in the office. Security records are kept for a limited period for investigation.

Your choices

• Add or remove sign-in methods from your account page.
• Leave an office, or ask its admins to remove you.
• Ask us for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion of your account.
